Voltage sensors for ubuntu

17 08 2008
i always need to c the temperature of my CPU but i couldn’t find it, then i managed to find this (LM sensors)
it show me the voltage and the temp and fans speed
i’ll tell ya how to install it and use it :
1- open a terminal with ALT+CTRL+T
2- print this to install lmsensors:
sudo apt-get install lm-sensors
3- enter your password
then after finishing we need to
1- print :
sudo sensors-detect
2- and then your password, the program will start like that :
This program will help you determine which kernel modules you need
to load to use lm_sensors most effectively. It is generally safe
and recommended to accept the default answers to all questions,
unless you know what you’re doing.

We can start with probing for (PCI) I2C or SMBus adapters.
Do you want to probe now? (YES/no):

so we’ll press Y and enter:
the program will try to detect the sensors in your hardware your job is to press Y or any key , it’s simple
at last it will print u the summery and tell u that it will print a line at the end of the file /etc/modules
then of source you have to agree .
after this step the program will exit ,
3- you have to restart.
1- then after opening open a terminal and print :
it will print every thing u ever dreamed about:

after installation i noticed that the PC thermal is going up, i think that it cause this so i have to disable it ( it maybe because of my hardware specifications).
1- open terminal with ALT+CTRL+T
2- print :
sudo nano /etc/modules
3- enter your password
4- search for the lines similar to
# Generated by sensors-detect on Sun Aug 17 02:58:07 2008
# Chip drivers

and change it to :
# Generated by sensors-detect on Sun Aug 17 02:58:07 2008
# Chip drivers

5- press CTRL+X to exit
6- press Y to agree on the saving
7- press enter to write to /etc/modules
8- restart you box
